We’re inviting our members to help bring a new and lively page to life on our website—one that celebrates Famous Mayflower Descendants, inspired by the wonderful example created by the Oklahoma Society of Mayflower Descendants.

The idea is simple and fun: to shine a spotlight on notable people descended from the Mayflower passengers—whether their stories connect directly to Australia or simply add to the remarkable global legacy of these families. It’s a chance to explore just how far and wide Mayflower connections have travelled.
Take Freeman Cobb (1830–1878), for example. A Mayflower descendant who went on to establish Cobb & Co., his story is a great reminder of how these historic family lines can weave right into Australia’s own story.
We’d love your help in building this page! You might like to:
Suggest a notable Mayflower descendant—perhaps even one from your own family tree
Share a short biography or interesting historical insight
Contribute references, images, or a brief piece of research (around 400 words)
Highlight any Australian connections, where relevant
From business leaders to artists, explorers to innovators, every contribution will help create a page that’s both informative and enjoyable for visitors to explore.
If you have something to share, please send it through to the Publicity Committee. Together, we can build a fascinating collection of stories that celebrate these enduring connections.
Thank you, as always, for your enthusiasm and support—we look forward to seeing what you uncover!
